Cyrus the Great (600-530 BC) was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, the first Persian empire. He was well-known for having respected the customs and religions of the lands he conquered. He is also famous for freeing the slaves and establishing the very first signs of human rights throughout the world history. Iranian culture has been highly influenced by his time regarding human rights.
For Iranians, he is a father, and we usually chant in our protests:
"Cyrus is our father
Iran is our motherland"
Around the circle of this art, I've used the inspirational "Derafsh Kaviani" in a minimal form. Derafsh Kaviani was the legendary royal standard of Iran. It means "Standard of kings" or "flag of Kaveh".
